Dr Dobromila Jaskot is an award-winning, internationally acknowledged, classically trained composer, specialising in art / experimental music, and music for screen.

bio

Dr Dobromila Jaskot is an internationally acknowledged, classically trained composer, born in Poland, living in Australia. She has obtained Master (2005) and PhD (2011) in composition, as well as studied numerous film, theatre, music technology, and multimedia art courses. Before moving to Australia she was a Lecturer in film music, orchestration, and music technology at The Bydgoszcz Music Academy, Poland (2005-2015).

 

Her music has been performed, published, and commissioned for over two decades by various institutions, theatres, ensembles, and festivals, i.e.: Warsaw Autumn Festival (Poland), Ultra Schall (Germany), MusMa (European Union), Bendigo International Festival of Explorative Music (Australia), Totally Huge New Music Festival (Australia), Other Minds Festival (USA), Grand Theatre–National Opera (Poland), among many others.

 

Her creative achievements have been recognised on many occasions, like Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative, Djerrasi Resident Artists Program (USA), International Rostrum of Composers (Portugal), Finalist Competition for Composer-Pianist’s Kultursalon Hoerbiger (Austria), among several international scholarships and grants, such as Australia Council for the Arts, Minister of Culture and National Heritage (Poland), Ernst von Siemens (Germany), Game Audio Intensive (AMC, Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio), among others.

 

As an established music professional in a wide range of art sectors, she has been invited to several program committee and judge panels, i.e.: Screen Music Awards (APRA AMCOS, AGSC), Australasian and International Computer Music Conference (Monash University, University of North Texas), West Australian Music Industry Awards, The Rock Music Competition (PL), among others.

Within applied music field she has been collaborating with numerous international theatres, contemporary dancers and artists, and video game developers and publishers such as Toplitz Productions, Mehuman Games, Movie Games Lunarium, and Madmind Studio.
